A staple accessory for any jewelry collector and a perfect gift to commemorate a milestone. Diamond stud earrings have been a long time favorite for many and we have a variety of options to choose from - three natural tiers, one lab-grown, and much more.
If you’re shopping for diamonds, it is important to know what types of diamonds are out there.
Natural diamonds (also known as earth-created) are formed naturally under the high temperature and pressure conditions that exist about 100 miles beneath the earth’s surface. These are the highest valued diamonds when comparing equivalent grades.
Lab-grown diamonds (also known as man-made, lab-created, and synthetic) have the same chemical, physical, and optical properties as natural diamonds, but are grown by man in a laboratory. Currently, prices for lab-created diamonds are roughly half the price of their natural counterpart.
Simulated diamonds (also known as imitation) are not actually diamonds. They have a similar colorless appearance but their chemical, physical, and optical properties are different. Sometimes these are man-made materials (CZ, moissanite, glass, etc.) while other times they may be natural gemstones (white topaz, sapphire, etc.). Being there are a variety of look-alikes available, price will vary greatly. However, these are typically quite inexpensive.
A Choice of Setting
Natural and lab-grown diamond stud earrings come in your choice of three- or four-prong settings. The price is for 14 karat white or yellow gold.
Diamonds come in a spectrum of color and clarity grades which can make buying them a tad overwhelming. We select our diamonds and group them into three groups (Value, Standard, and Superior) to make shopping simpler.
Our value selection will be comparable to what you will find priced at a chain jeweler or department store. We provide these affordable selections but with friendly local service that you won’t get anywhere else.
Standard and superior selections are what we find most people drawn to in-person. A color grade of “GH” is the near-colorless appearance that people prefer in diamonds. Clarity characteristics are typically not as noticeable when worn as earrings and being selective when choosing “I” clarity stones will still display clean and sparkly! However, if you want a “crystal clear” appearance, we recommend a “SI” clarity grade which would require a magnifying glass to see clarity characteristics.
With a simulated stone color and clarity are typically not as relevant considering they are not true diamonds. Instead we focus on providing high-quality settings.
If you haven’t quite found what you’re looking for, the choices do not stop there! Whether you're looking for a specific diamond (larger carat weight, higher clarity/color, fancy shape) or different setting style (bezel, halo, etc.), we can help. Tell us what you’re looking for and we will send you pictures and prices.
